Très Adorable

My French class was moved up today, from 7:30pm to 10am, since all 7 of us in the class are off thanks to MLK Jr. Day. I’m heading off to Le Pain Quotidien in a bit, and you’ll be happy to know I finished my homework (beaucoup de devoirs, might I add. I spent about two hours yesterday slaving away. Oh, who am I kidding, I loved every second of it. I might as well have been wearing a beret and a neck scarf) early this time, instead of rushing it an hour before I have to be at class. Afterwards, Boyfriend and I are meeting Herbie for pho and to see “Lincoln,” finally.

While I’m off having the best Monday I’ve had in a long time (croissants! Obama’s inauguration! friends!), I leave you with this absolutely darling video, “Betty in Paris.” To answer your questions, non I didn’t cry while watching it, and oui, I totally want to pop out a Francophile baby one day (just like this girl).

  1. I absolutely love the video of the little French girl telling a story. My favorite is how the animals were poor, mostly because she says it so cute!

  2. oh! every time i see one of the “olive us’ videos, well, for one i wish the “us” part included me. and for two it makes my heart feel like it is breaking, really, really breaking. i want that to be me! and my cute kids traipsing around paris, collecting eggs from the neighbors farm, picking out pastries from the local bakery. le sigh . . .

ps i like your future baby. and i can’t wait to hear what you think of lincoln, i want to see that asap. xo

  3. So cute, I can totally see why you’d love the video Erin! Can just imagine you in the beret and scarf – hope you took the opportunity to eat lots of camembert too.

  4. Check out how big that guy’s pencil is! ;)
She’s not as cute as the real french girl and her haircut isn’t nearly as sharp.
What’s your francophile baby going to be called? Bet you have a name already! :)))

  5. That sounds like a perfect day, you deserve it! I had to go to work today and when looking out the window I could see the buildings across the street were all deserted. In my lunch break I treated myself to some retail therapy and checked out the Goodwill store on my block and left with a lamp base, a soap dish and a little pottery thingy…

  6. I’m glad you had the best Monday ever (despite the cold temps!)
Sweet video…although..after a while I was torn between, “…hey wait a minute where are her parents…” and “..what a self sufficient little girl!”

  7. Oh, that does sound like the perfect Monday. It really should be the way every day is spent. If only…:)
Mmm, enjoy the pho and Lincoln. Let us know how you like it. It seems like a heavy movie, so I haven’t been in the mood to see it. I have heard good things. Thanks for the sweet video. It gave me a little smile.

  8. How funny- the baguette under the arm, the La Durée- this kid is channeling you, totally.

What a sweet video- it even makes bitter ole’ me nostalgic for Paris! Oh and the pont where she was touching the love locks? It was the same spot Ban and I left ours! Of course there are a lot more than there were three years ago, so I’m sure ours is buried somewhere under there. Hrrrng.

Oh! Fine! I’ll admit it! I miss Paris!
