Friday Five

“That Paris exists, and anyone could choose to live anywhere else in the world will always be a mystery to me.” – Midnight in Paris

The highlight of this otherwise bleak week (aside from spending a ton of time with friends) was hearing from someone in French class that our teacher told him I take “very good notes,” and that he should get a copy of mine from Monday since he missed class. Of course now I’m panicking that my handwriting is unclear or my notes aren’t complete, but I’m still more than a little, how do you say en Francais, chuffed. Le chuffed? Probably.

Today I give you five incroyable photos de Paris. I’ve said this a million times, and I’ll keep saying it: Paris is the most beautiful city in the world to me, and I am desperately in love with it. The next seven weeks will be tough to get through (Boyfriend is going back to India for two weeks, making this his 8th trip, and the 3rd in a year) but Paris will get me through.

What are you up to this weekend? I’m hoping to get back on the wagon and WRITE, it’s been weeks since I’ve given Mirette any attention. Take care of yourselves, kiddos. Pretty please.

  1. I had to look up the word chuffed, I had no idea what it meant and if it was a good or a bad thing. Turns out it’s a good thing ;) You can be proud of yourself for being such a good student. The third photo is amazing, just love the light and overall atmosphere. I’ll be heading to a friends house in the Catskills this weekend with a group of friends for some snowboarding. Have a great and productive weekend!

  2. Aw, so dreamy. You’re definitely transporting me today, which I really need. Well, in BF’s absence ;( I hope you get some writing done; That will be a nice escape. The upside is that you made it through a pretty difficult week and further solidified wonderful friendships. Speaking of which, thank you for your comment today. You are a beautiful person and friend. Have a great weekend, E!

  3. Chuffed is a great word, I used it a lot.
I am selling some boots on ebay and a French person emailed me and asked me a load of questions. In French. Bit presumptuous I thought. But anyway, I understood the entire email! I was *chuffed*. And replied in English.
    Have a great weekend xx

  4. I love that quote (and that movie). And a trip to Paris is definitely something to look forward to and to get you through the next few weeks!

  5. i used to want to visit india desperately (and parts of me still do) but as i get older and with kids, i think parts of it would be so difficult to witness. now i have my sights more focused on getting to paris someday. i can’t wait unti you go and i can hear all about it! xo

  6. I’m going to be driving more for my commute in to work and I’m seriously thinking of doing podcast language lessons because of you
