“It is the end of the day. It is the end of the week. We managed to fill forty hours somehow. That’s not bad, is it?”

Even though I haven’t watched The Office since last season, I still keep a quote-a-day calendar on my desk at work. This one, above, particularly resonated with me this week. We moved offices over the weekend and it’s been an adjustment ever since (my desk got smaller, our group ended up in a hallway with no natural light and worse, no air flow. I’ve been threatening to wear a Breath-Right strip every day). But somehow, the days feel like they’re flying by, and I’m attributing it to the fact that this has been the busiest week of my 2+ years at my job. Seriously. I’ve never been so swamped. If I’ve seemed out of it around here the last few days, or on your blogs, you’ll have to forgive me. I’ve barely had time to do anything but go to work and then come home and go to sleep. I even took work home with me one night this week, a feat that has never before occurred and one that I swore I’d never do; I don’t ever want to be the kind of person who takes work home with them. Mostly because I don’t want to work, but that’s a story for another time.

I hope you all have a wonderful weekend, full of sleep and relaxation. What are you guys up to?

  1. I shall be watching more of series two of parks and recreation whcih is just hilarious. so much funnier than the first series which was pretty funny. we just watched the one where Ron got a hernia and sat in his office all evening until the motion sensors went off. I love it, thanks for the recommendation.
It’s basically the office except the characters aren’t quite as odious.x

  2. Annie is so right about Parks and Rec.

Get some good chill-out-do-nothing-internet-channel-surfing in this weekend!

  3. i need to make a list of shows that i can watch while i am doing way too much embroidery in the near future. (i say this in reference to the above comments – not really my big weekend plans, but i don’t know it does sound fun). anyway, i did not get through the first season of Parks and Rec, so i am glad to hear it gets much better. that show has been on awhile, there’s got to be some good hours of tv watching.

as for the weekend, i am hoping to make a last look-see around my place and get rid of the rest of the things i don’t need. go through my clothes, eek, that’s a big one! i just swear i am going to read that someday!

and in my down time i am hoping to finish the first book in game of thrones so i can watch that series too. i told myself i would just read the first book and then watch the shows because i am not much of a series reader, but it’s actually really good and i kind of want to keep going with the books. get some rest my twinsy. xoxo!

  4. I mentioned it on my blog, but I after about 60 gazillion texts and emails, I’m going away with some of my favorite girlfriends this weekend. We’re pretty much past the planning stage (how much food do 4 women need for just over 24 hours?) and have moved on to texting things like, “can we go yet?” and “I’m. SO. READY.”

It’s been a busy week here too. I’ve taken on a new client, so aside from having new deadlines to hit, I’m wracked with the paranoia that comes with the certainty that they’ll hate everything I write. ;)

  5. Trust me, I know what you mean. My office is open plan, miles from any form of day light and all you can hear is the tap tap tapping of people at their keyboards!!!… day……..

  6. I rarely bring home work too! The only time I ever did was when we did our department budget this past fiscal year. That time was a first for me so it was super exciting and a bit tedious! But the years to come… I don’t think it will be so exciting. Happy weekend, am I right?

  7. I hear you about taking work home. But I suppose every now and then, it’s like a necessary evil of sorts. I hope things calm down/get back to normal for you soon!

  8. Aw, The Office. Remember when it first came on the scene and it was groundbreaking and really, really good? Anyway, I haven’t watched it either for many seasons. Sorry to hear about your new office environment. The Breathe-Right strip comment made me chuckle. Well, I’m hoping you were able to relax a little this weekend. We had soccer, tball, birthday celebrations (surprise, surprise), and then decided to get out of town for a few days this week, with as much relaxation as you can have with two littles. ;)

  9. I can so relate to the days flying by at work, I am crazy busy as well. And our seating arrangements changed as well, we got new furniture and I ended up loosing my window seat and was moved away from the window and ended up at a desk that is about half the size of my old…Oh, well shit happens ;)…I hope you were able to relax and regenerate this weekend!
