Tuesday Tunes

Tuesday Tunes makes its triumphant return today because a) my brain has melted in this heat and I was mentally incapable of compiling a Two of a Kind or anything else remotely taxing, and b) this song is SO GOOD. I’ve been listening to it non-stop, it’s so catchy. I discovered New Zealander (New Zealandite? Brain-melt, help) Kimbra through that Gotye song (you know the one, it took me forever to give in to it and when I finally came around to it I was 6 months behind every other person on the planet, story of my life), and her solo stuff is so quirky and refreshing. Did I mention she is adorable? Because just wait until she busts out her dance moves a minute into it.

Aside from the mildly (okay, very) creepy Mad Men imagery of the young girls and the frozen, Ken-doll husband, isn’t this video great? And not just because she is so stunning to look at. Seriously though, her features are so striking. Kind of makes me want to dye my hair jet-black and dance awkwardly at all times (let’s be honest, I do that anyway).

What are you guys listening to this summer?

  • Kiwis.

Will have to watch this later I’m afraid otherwise everyone else in my office will be listening to it too. I’ve never heard of her though so you’re no later to the party than me.

  • Yes, she’s totally cute. I’ve been listening to a lot of house and trance – I think it’s on the rise again!

  • Considering I break out in to spontaneous dancing on the regular I can appreciate a few new dance moves. I’m a big fan of this Tuesday Tunes situation, keep ’em coming girl!

  • I knows you can dance….I seen your dancing!!

  • She is adorable. Like her little shoulder shimmy. This is one of those songs that the more you listen to, the more it grows on you. Sort of like the Gotye song. It’s just out there enough for me, too.
Well, tomorrow is the Fourth of July and I think many are in holiday mode. Maybe that helps to explain your fried brain, along with the sweltering heat. Stay cool.
