Like A Picture

I’m particularly impressed with myself for  this week’s installment of Like a Picture. Is that too big-headed to say out loud? Oh well. I am. Conceited and impressive. Aside from the very first one of this series I did, this might be my favorite yet.

1. Blanket / 2. Candle / 3. Picture

That blanket (which isn’t from Lands Downunder for the first time so far in this series, like I promised last week) is double-sided and matches the girl’s shirt perfectly. The solid cream colored back with the heathered sleeves, and the solid cream side of the blanket and the heathered underside. And! One of my favorite candles just happens to have a sea-foam border on the label that matches the bokeh street lights in the distance. Total coincidence, but one of those happy accidents that just works so well. You know, not to toot my own horn or anything.

Toot toot.

I am loving this series, and I hope you all are as well. I get more and more excited about it each week. I might even start taking requests, would you guys be interested in that?

  • It does match the girl’s shirt perfectly! Do you know where the shirt is from as well?

    • Unfortunately, I don’t, but I’ll try to track it down using my Internet-squirrel skills :)

  • Toot away, honey – you’ve done a fabulous job! :D

    Love that photo!
What is it about lights in soft focus? Gets me. Every. Single. Time.
I’m lusting after that top and therefore the throw – they’re like hugs that you can take with you wherever you go.

Have I mentioned how much I enjoy this series? I’d love to make a request. We could all guess who chose the photo or something. :)

    • Isn’t “toot” a British slang word for fart? Or a slang word in general for it? Haha, I just realized that now!

I love the idea of playing a guessing game of who sent which request. I’ll have to think more on how to best make it work! Thanks for the suggestion, Chi! And yeah, shallow-focus photography is like my weakness. xo

  • Love the shirt, especially love the photo. Might need to have that throw. So funny that you’re taking requests, because when I saw your FB link earlier today, before I even looked at the post, I thought, “wonder if she’d ever do one of *my* photos…”

    • Oh, I totally would! That would be so neat! I’ll have to think a little more on how to approach it, but I definitely love the idea of taking requests! xo

  • Oh…another blanket for Fitz to chew!

    • Hahaha, touché! I’m not buying any more throw blankets, though.

  • Very well done! Although I’m not 100% convinced you didn’t photoshop in that turquoise.

Oh lovely Chi you have such a wonderful way with words! I too am lusting after the top x

    • Haha, all the sources are there for your inspection, missy! I have to track down that top now, though. Hmm.

  • Yes, I agree, you’ve outdone yourself with this one. Everything is complementing each other quite nicely. And, OH, that sweater with the slight tail in the back…I think you might have to source how to buy it. ;) I definitely see the potential of a little blog party happening with this series.

    • Consider the Internet-squirrel/Lisbeth on the case! The more I look at it the more I kind of want one for myself….

I definitely see a par-tay happening! I’m excited at the prospect.

  • Blog party, T, very good.

Not sure this one is my favourite of the series but it’s a great match kiddo and the Bokeh is delightful:)

A bit white, you know…………..ahhh, that might be why it’s your favourite!

    • Hahah, you figured me out! xo

  • Very good lovey. I love the top too but I’m not sure it or the blanket would stay that colour in my household. It would start to resemble the pattern we see at the back of the shot that’s out of focus :-)

Requests are a great idea. How about we give you one of our photos/images/paintings or give you the name of an artist ?

    • Oh gosh, I know. Everything in my house is covered in black dog hair, haha. The blankets we do have he’s eaten holes in, so we’re not off to a good start. Half the reason I like this series is because I lets me imagine all the blankets I could have if my dog weren’t such a jerk. I mean chewer.

I love that idea! I’ll think about the best way to work it, but I like that idea!

  • Love this series Erin! Keep it coming and let us know when you need some requests!

  • I really like your page, and your photos!
    Truly amazing.
    Cheers!
