Like a Picture

This is the second installment in the “Like a Picture” series I launched last week, after a warm reception (thanks, you guys!). If you look on my sidebar, you’ll notice I’ve added a new section of “Weekly Features.” Down the road, either when I run out of blankets or when there’s something else that better fits the image, I might change it up. But for now I’m happy sticking to a striking photograph, and pairing it with a blanket and candle. Because seriously, “blanket and candle” could be my middle name.

1. Blanket / 2. Candle / 3. Picture

What is the next holiday or gift-giving occasion coming up? Is there some culture where “Saturday” means “Buy someone a gorgeous photograph”? I need to investigate. In the meantime, my wish-list has a 16×20 print of that Daeja Fallas photograph at the very top. Potential gift-givers, take heed! Imagine how dreamy that would look framed and hanging on a dark wall. I get goosebumps thinking about it.

And before anyone asks, yes I know that’s the third blanket I’ve used from the same company. No, I’m not getting any sort of commission for it, I just seriously love their blankets that much.

  1. You mean blanket, candle and macaron :-). I’m liking this feature, keep ’em coming. Agreed about it looking good on a dark wall, that sparkly dress makes my heart sing, I love shiny things.

I’ve never heard of Daeja Fallas, I’ll look her (yes?) up in a mo.

It’s Easter weekend so there’ll be gifts of chocolate flying about in our household, followed by presents for my 14 year old’s birthday next week. I think I’ve used up my own gift credits for the time being :-)

  2. I love the photo you’ve chosen – great bokeh and so evocative! The way it’s been shot lends it intrigue ……….. who is she? Why is wading in the pool after dark in that gorgeous dress? Is that an equally sparkly handbag she’s carrying or a pair of shoes?

    I digress. :D
That blanket looks perfect for the weather we’ve had in my neck of the woods lately and I’d buy that candle just so I could have that beautiful receptacle in my life. :)

Did I mention that this series was a great idea? Can’t wait to see your next one!! :D xoxo

  3. Love the picture. Can I get a dress like that, sparkly things are just my thing…Keep the blankets and candles coming, one can never have enough of that. Nothing is better than being wrapped in a cuddly blanket by candlelight and a box of macarons to munch on…

  4. It always kind of shocks me when people wear really nice clothes in a swimming pool. I always wonder if the piece of clothing is ever wearable again or if they throw it away. And what would their mothers say!

  5. I like your new ‘Weekly Feature’.. gorgeous picture. Really beautiful photography and great colours… so mood inducing!

Yes, Sam is right, where is the Macaron?

    Happy Easter, chick…

  6. I love this photo, Erin. I also really like this new series. I’m selfishly looking forward to more because our bedroom is in dire need of a cool photograph above the bed. I actually think this specific photo could work with some silver base lamps. I will be watching this space.
